The certificate will be associated with the thing, but how you reach the certificate depends whether you are the custodian personally (for example, it is your car or home) or you are associated with an organisation that is the custodian (for example, a factory or commercial asset). If you own the thing personally, the certificate will be in your personal received certificates area, but marked as a 'thing' certificate.
If your organisation owns the thing, the certificate will be in your organisation's received certificates area, but marked as a 'thing' certificate.
